The Bach House has been open to paying guests since 2014, following a careful refurbishment that removed alterations made by previous owners while reinstating elements such as the built-in seat by the living room’s central fireplace.

Built in 1915 in Chicago’s East Rogers Park neighborhood, the Emil Bach house brings modernity to the home of the Magnificent Mile.

The Garden Club of Evanston House Walk and Holiday Boutique will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Spirit of Hope Award is the namesake award for comedian and actor Bob Hope who was renowned for his patriotism and his participation and contributions to United Service Organization tours.

Jennifer Pritzker has selflessly served soldiers and citizens for 42 years. In 2003, she established the multi-million dollar Pritzker Military Museum and Library in Chicago.

A great example of a late-Prairie-style house with a cubic orientation, finished just before Wright moved to a more Japanese-influenced style, the Emil Bach house, located in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, is presently available as a rental property.

The recipients of this year’s Spirit of Hope Award are American heroes who have selflessly supported the troops around the world, true embodiments of the values of Bob Hope, the legendary entertainer for whom the award is named, Deputy Defense Secretary Bob Work said here today.
